Safer Space® is the UK Cleaning Sector’s premier Certification for contractors committed to delivering the highest standards of cleaning and hygiene.
Safer Space® is aiming to be the sole national accreditation body in the UK for the delivery of sanitisation processes, creating healthier environments. Safer Space assesses and accredits against agreed standards, processes and technologies, educates operatives for certification, and provides independent inspection and verification services. All supported by an advisory body of industry and market place experts.
To reduce the numbers of infection outbreaks and their transmission through the sanitisation of harmful bacteria and viruses, while reducing the overuse of chlorinated sanitising agents and antibiotics. Ensuring we all stay a little healthier.
To educate and facilitate the creation of healthier environments using newer sanitising technologies and their disciplined application. To be the global leader in identifying, developing, and promoting novel sanitisation technologies and their application.

So why a Safer Space®?
Contractors are assessed annually to ensure that they have the most up to date knowledge and comply with best practice.
Only Certified Contractors are authorised to issue site specific Accreditation that a building is a “Safer Space®”. In all other circumstances Safer Space® will need to randomly audit and assess a site to ensure the effectiveness of the processes being carried out.
